Website planning guide for small businesses
A good small business website does not need to be complicated. It needs to explain what you do, where you work, why people should trust you and how to contact you.
Start with the visitor
List the questions a customer asks before calling: services, prices or estimates, location, availability, proof of work, reviews, guarantees and contact details. Those questions should shape the pages.
Keep navigation simple
Most local businesses need a homepage, services page, about page, contact page, privacy page and a few proof pages such as reviews or project examples.
Plan content before design
Design works better when the words are clear. Write service descriptions, areas covered and calls to action before worrying about colours and animations.
